At Build Matt, we take pride in delivering precision-engineered steel solutions that meet international standards while fulfilling unique on-ground requirements. One such noteworthy experience was our recent export of a ready-to-assemble steel structure—fabricated entirely at our Kampala, Uganda facility and later assembled and erected in Juba, South Sudan by the client for the United Nations.
This project not only showcased our technical capabilities but also reaffirmed our role as a reliable fabrication partner for mission-driven organizations across borders.
The client entrusted us with complete fabrication responsibilities. Our in-house team handled everything—from structural steel cutting to advanced bending, trailing railing fabrication, and ATC component preparation. Every part was meticulously crafted to specification, labeled for ease of identification, and packaged for safe overland transportation.
We didn’t just fabricate steel; we delivered a structure designed for flawless assembly at the destination without requiring any modifications. This was especially important given the remote location and critical application.
The project site was based in Juba, South Sudan, where the structure would be used for United Nations operations. We understood the significance of the project and the challenges involved in working across borders, especially in regions with infrastructural constraints.
Our approach was to simplify the execution at the client’s end:
Once we completed fabrication, the client transported the materials from Uganda to South Sudan and successfully erected the structure using our detailed guidance and labeled components.
Given the operational nature of UN missions, speed and reliability are essential. The ready-to-assemble approach we offered provided several advantages:
With our system, the UN team could focus on assembly, not construction—saving both time and effort.
This project reflects more than just successful fabrication—it highlights Build Matt’s ability to collaborate across borders and deliver where it matters most. Exporting from Uganda and seeing the final structure stand tall in South Sudan was a moment of great pride for our entire team.
We ensured the following throughout the process:
Our client handled the logistics and on-site erection, and we were happy to see the outcome met their expectations with zero rework required.
As infrastructure needs in East Africa and beyond continue to evolve, we are committed to delivering more such high-quality, ready-to-assemble structures. This project adds to our growing list of successful exports and showcases our ability to support large-scale, international initiatives from our base in Kampala.
Whether it’s for government bodies, humanitarian missions, or private enterprise, Build Matt remains ready to fabricate and export steel structures that perform—anywhere in Africa and beyond.
